Aamir Khan's blockbuster Dangal found a special mention on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. Chinese President Xi Jinping mentioned the film to PM Narendra Modi when they met on Friday.
According to a report by Business Today, the Chinese premier told his Indian counterpart that he 'loved' Aamir Khan's Dangal, and that he would like to see more such movies released in China in the future.
A huge acknowledgement no doubt.
Dangal has of course been doing phenomenal business in China and has already raked in $174.8 million. And the innings is by no means over with the film being expected to earn at least another $20 million. Not at all a mean feat if you consider the fact that China annually permits 34 foreign films to be screened, out of which Indian quota was fixed at two for several years. The quota has now been increased to four.
